c.1950 Kokyu, Super Electric Train in Original Box

Superb mint in box tin litho double "electric" train with friction drive motor. Never played with, it comes complete with original box. Manufactured by Kokyu Shokai, Japan. As train moves a small internal bell rings simultaneously.

Two identical train cars are permanently connected by a strip of metal ribbon. Both cars have embossed windows, doors, and roof panels. A single, black electricity conductor is on the end of each roof. The wheels are metal and tin plated with the exception of the two friction tires which are solid rubber. One friction motor hauls both cars. Brightly lithographed in red, white, blue, yellow, and black.

Full color box illustrated with two, panel wide trains on parallel tracks with the city in background. It shows the bell with lightning bolts coming out of it inferring that it's electric. But it's all run by friction and mechanical means. Still has original tissue paper packing material.

Size: 14".
